There was a lot of good and bad this week, and my mission was to capture it honestly. My hope was to celebrate these imperfectly perfect moments that may not come across how we expected on camera, but love so much anyway.
I’ve enjoyed seeing your photos and videos on Instagram and Facebook. Looking forward to seeing even more this week.
My son finally started sleeping in his room through the night. We celebrated that, then later in the week he pooped on my floor. My husband and daughter had some sweet moments, and we made it to school on time (most days)!
That’s basically last week in a nutshell. But here’s more on all that. Oh, and surprisingly, my husband made it into half of the photos this week! Talk about progress!
I’m not going to lie, getting to school early has been a STRUGGLE for me. In passing Lil’ J mentioned how she didn’t like rushing to her classroom in the morning, so I’ve made it a point to get my butt up earlier so I can help her get up and ready for the day. Usually when she gets out of the car she’s making a mad dash to her classroom but today she had a moment to turn around and wave goodbye to her brother and I. This is one of those imperfectly perfect moments. I only took one photo, had no idea if my settings were right or if it was composed, or even why I had reached for my camera. I snapped it just at the right moment when she was giving me her sweet smile.
Another one of those perfectly imperfect captures. Bed head, low lamp light, and quick shot. I had plans to sneak in and capture this little guy STILL ASLEEP in his own bed at 7am (finally!)! The picture just didn’t work out like I had hoped, but in many ways I think I like this even better.
Lil’ J used to visit my mom’s house and go straight to my sister, but now she’s giving Granny the time of day. When she got off the bus at her house Wednesday she walked past me and to my mom to tell her about her fun day at school. Love watching their relationship grow.
A not-so-pretty photo after a not-so-pretty moment. I don’t know what is with my child but he hates pooping in the potty. He won’t do it. He will run and hide. Pee in the potty? Totally fine. Poop? Forget it! While I was on a conference call he pooped in his pull-up then proceeded to take off his pants and sit his poopy butt on my carpet. It was not fun. For more of my unedited life with this crazy toddler feel free to find us on Snapchat. Today’s story is especially pleasant (username: JenniferBorget.)
Today felt like 3 days! The morning held a Valentines party with my girl. Then the whole day was a busy one running around at work, followed by a date night with my hubby. I didn’t have a photo to sum everything up, but I’ll never pass up an opportunity to take a shot with this guy. It’s not the perfect picture. We snapped on the side of the road (we were losing light!) on the way to dinner. He hates pictures, but I always love when he’s a good sport. Just another reason I adore him.
These two have some of the cutest moments. Today they had a daddy daughter “craft” rolling Gushers up in Fruit Roll-Ups (umm, yuck?). Yea… Talk about a sugar rush. Excuse the mess in the background (it’s actually cleaning supplies). It’s just a glimpse of our beautifully imperfect reality.
Choosing today’s photo was hard. There were many, MANY outtakes, but when our clothes are clean and hair is done I get a little crazy with the camera and it’s hard to pass up on a decent shot. It’s tough to beat a daddy daughter pic.
